Stella Nora Evans (nee Cook), known in theatrical circles as Stella Gaye, slipped away peacefully on June 13, 2012, at Ian Anderson House hospice, Oakville, at the age of 85.
Born in Norwich, Norfolk, England, Stella pursued her lifetime passion for acting on both sides of the Atlantic. She performed in both amateur and professional productions throughout her life. Her effervescent personality always shone through on the stage.
A loving wife and mother, Stella was a gentle and respectful woman who treated others kindly and cherished her friendships. She is survived by her husband James Evans, children Dianne (Wayne), Barry (Belinda), Zoe (Laurino) and Richard (Merridith), 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
A celebration of Stella's life will be held on Saturday, June 23rd, at 11am, at St. John's Dixie Cemetery & Crematorium, 737 Dundas St. E., Mississauga.
Memorial donations in memory of Stella can be made to the Ian Anderson House hospice (www.ianandersonhouse.com/donate.html)
